In a recent television series in the UK called "The Planets", the son of Nikita Khrushchev ( the Russian premier at the time of Apollo) told of a series of meetings between his father and John F Kennedy.

JFK allegedly offered Russia a deal to have joint Russian/US missions to the moon. The Soviet leader said "No" initially, but then changed his mind some months later.

However, time was running out and they never got the chance to seal the agreement due to JFK's assassination in Dallas.

Perhaps a joint moon program would have stopped the cold war and saved countless millions of dollars or roubles, however, at that time the last thing certain US groups would want would be is "In bed with the reds". Perhaps, a good reason to get rid of a President?

To those residents of the USA who may read this, I mean no disrespect to your ex-president but I personally would give more credibility to the possibility of JFK's assasination being linked to the space race than to believe that the Apollo series was a hoax
