It is a well documented fact that the temperature on the lunar surface can vary from +250°F to -230°F It has been suggested that this in itself proves that the Apollo lunar surface photographs are faked because at those temperature extremes the photographic film would either melt or crack as it was a standard type of film stock. David Percy in his book "Dark Moon" commissioned a research experiment in which a piece of film was placed in an oven at +250°F. Surprise, surprise, it showed signs of melting. Are you convinced? Don't be! What this experiment has failed to appreciate is there is no atmosphere on the Moon, it's a VACUUM. Let's get scientific for a moment. There are three forms of heat transfer, conduction, convection and radiation. Only radiation can take place in a vacuum. Radiation is the least effective method of heat transfer and that is why we have vacuum flasks to keep our coffee hot and our iced tea cold. Therefore the film inside the camera would not reach any were near the temperature extremes during the moon walks Yet another piece of so called proof that may sound convincing until you look at it properly It's just a shame that the oven experiment didn't take place in a vacuum! Maybe the experiment was carried out to show what the author was trying to prove?Temperature extremes on the lunar surface
